About Coach

Joe Chavez is a CrossFit Level 3 Trainer and has certifications in both Olympic weightlifting and gymnastics. Joe also the owner and head coach of

Joe Chavez served in the United States Army from 2007 to 2015. During a deployment from 2010 to 2011, he was introduced to CrossFit through workouts popularized by Navy SEALs. His first experience was with the workout "Fran," which left him breathless, sweating, and trying to process what had just happened. Following that experience, he occasionally incorporated CrossFit workouts into his regular hypertrophy training.After leaving the military, Joe took a break from cardio altogether for several years.

In 2017, on the recommendation of a friend, he joined a CrossFit gym. This decision reignited his passion for fitness and humbled him as he re-engaged with CrossFit workouts. While pursuing his education full-time, Joe also worked part-time as a CrossFit coach before eventually moving to Jackson, TN in 2020. During that time he took a break from coaching. Joe resumed coaching in the spring of 2022 and it re-lit his passion for coaching. In January 2023, Joe advanced his coaching journey by earning his CrossFit Level 2 certification. The seminar proved transformative, as the seminar staff set examples that reshaped his entire coaching philosophy. Inspired by their approach, Joe adapted his coaching style to align with the principles and methodologies presented during the course. He dedicated himself to studying CrossFit manuals and focusing on the fundamentals of the sport. In January 2024, Joe joined a coaching development group, where he received direct feedback from four active seminar staff members. This mentorship helped refine his coaching skills and deepen his understanding of CrossFit methodology. By September 2024, he achieved the distinction of Certified CrossFit Trainer after passing the Certified CrossFit Trainer exam.

Joe’s favorite CrossFit movements include moderate-to-heavy thrusters and muscle-ups. He is passionate about working with athletes of all experience levels, sharing in their growth, and helping them develop their skills.
